Why The Jr. Waterman Program is COVID-19 Resilient
Kids learn ocean safety in the open air
Kailua's newest outdoor-based kids program - Safer than camps & schools
- We maintain small groups of no more than 4 kids together. Something that is impossible for most camps and schools to pull off.
- We use the outdoors as our classroom. Nature provides the best protection from transmisison with open air and isolation from others.
- Sunshine & vitamin-D boost immune function. Studies have proven that vitamin-D, created from being in the sun, boost & fortify immune systems. It is critical to get kids outside and away from all types of screens.
- We follow strict safety measures & protocols as recommended by the CDC & government entities. Requiring face masks while indoors, regular temperature checks upon check-in and socially distancing are all enforced. All equipment, from the chairs to the kayaks used, is rigorously sanitized after use. Hand-sanitizer stations are placed all around our establishment.
- We design each group for minimizing exposure. Kids can request to be paired with their siblings or friend's bubble to minimize exposure. Further more, kids are with the same group and same instructors each day, as much as possible.
All activites and interactions incure some risk. We cannot guarantee 100% protection for anybody. However, we do everything we can to keep that risk minimized.
